    Beware of these October bewitching trends!

    Holiday shopping kicked off earlier than ever on Oct. 11 with Amazon’s Early Access Sale. And so far, we’re seeing cooling consumer demand amidst rising prices. In turn, vendors are prioritizing spend efficiency signaled by declining ad spend and increasing ROAS.

    October also brought forward an early jump on our 2023 trends and predictions. First, the consolidation of retail as seen by Kroger’s acquisition of Albertsons. Second, we’re seeing the growing dominance of retail ecommerce as more retailers launch retail media networks (RMNs) like DoorDash releasing a self-service ad manager and Ahold Delhaize announcing plans for its own RMN.

    October’s takeaway? In these continually uncertain times, brands and agencies that practice pragmatic agility by prioritizing efficiency and automation will gain the competitive advantage.
